Victim vs Volunteer

This is sort of a black and white assesment to make in various departments of our life.

Relationships, work, frienships, business. Questions to ask ourself when something is not working to our standards and makes us feel upset, frustrated, misunderstood, confused or conflicted.

Example: Someone is not performing well in their job/relationship/business etc.

Are you a victim or a volunteer in your situation?

Who allows that bad behaviour?
Who doesn't set the boundries?
Who has chosen these people?
Who still keeps these people in their life?

Identifying our role askes for self-awareness. The victim, does nothing about it and accepts things and behaviours as they happen. The volunteer addreses the situation and corrects it. If the correction is not possible, then she/he removes herself/himself or them from that situation.

Tip: You only get to be a victim once, after that you are a volunteer.
